KUMA CREATIVE ART

PORTFOLIO

A collection of original artwork, custom creations, and unique designs.

Custom Built Wine Rack and Bar

This piece was made for a neighbor years ago. Made using poplar and tempered glass, which was sandblasted on the reverse side. I truly enjoyed creating this piece, and my only regret is not having a better camera at the time.

"Honey Pot"

Hand Turned Bowl

I took my time on this 8"x3" bowl, made from a sturdy chunk of walnut. The finish applied is a food safe wax product.

Handmade Chandelier Project

I made this piece years ago, using red oak, a thin flexible ply for the arch, and antique stained glass. Crafting the arch and designing the pendants took a bit of engineering. Lighting projects are a passion of mine, though time consuming. I'd be happy to entertain lighting projects in the future. Send a contact form and lets get to brainstorming.

Pagoda Lantern

I made this piece a few years back. Made with red oak, rice paper and a long life LED light. The scrolls and carving for the lattice was a lot of fun. I plan on making many more lanterns in the future and will be playing around with designs to see what makes the best use of negative space for silhouettes.

Another Lamp

Creating this was a TON of fun. It used red oak, cherry for the base, along with frosted glass, copper, and crests from old fire helmets to enclose the shade. These types of pieces require planning, material sourcing, and a bit of ingenuity to get accomplished.

Great Blue Heron

Hand Painted Art

This piece was my first attempt back at the brush after many years of telling myself I couldn't paint. The reference photo was snapped at a Japanese and Botanical Garden by either my wife or myself (truly can't remember on that). I managed to surprise myself and turned out a decent painting with a bit of effort and patience.

Ducks on a Pond

Linocut Print

This 4"x6" linocut print was a very fun piece to turn out. Hand sketched, carved and printed on earth tone card stock. The subject was a pair of ducks at a refuge in northern Australia that I photographed.
